André Pichette, Ph. D., Vice President Research & Development

André Pichette holds a Master’s degree in organic chemistry from Université de Sherbrooke and a doctoral degree in wood chemistry from Université Laval in 1999. Then, he completed a postdoctoral training within Health Canada’s Therapeutic Products Program in Ottawa before accepting the position of professor and researcher at Université du Québec à Chicoutimi in 2000.

Since the beginning of his academic career, Dr. Pichette has published more than 110 peer reviewed articles in major scientific journals, and contributed to numerous innovations in the field of natural products of vegetable origin. Dr. Pichette’s commitment towards the implementation of a high-yield research infrastructure in the region (the LASEVE laboratory), and his desire to develop value-added products from the forestry biomass have led him to several prestigious grants allowing him to set up a $4-million physical infrastructure, and to gather a team of more than 20 researchers.

In recent years, Dr. Pichette contributed his expertise in natural product chemistry to ensure the discovery and development of new active ingredients for the cosmetics industry.
